My Greatest Skills

I believe that each and every one of us has unique talents and skills that add value to any working or professional setting. I think taking a strengths based approach to the work I do helps me to excel in many situations. If elected to City council I would bring these three skills to the table

Active Listener

When I say "Your voice First" I really mean it! I am a great listener, and take the time to sit down with people and hear what they have to say. I think this an important quality for a council member, as it is a big part of the job - If you can hear what people need and are sharing then how can I be effective?

Approachable

If you do not know me yet, you soon will! I love to meet new people and get to know them. I like to think that my friendly personality lends itself to people feeling safe and open towards me. So if you see me, say hello and let's have a chat!

Critical Thinker

Critical thinking skills is something to be developed and constantly practiced. To me, critical thinking means that you have the ability to hear opposing or contrasting information and understand that their are many truths, and many perspectives. This means that there could be a lot of factors at play too: power, bias, intentions etc. My role as a critical thinker is to take that all into consideration and take a holistic approach to the topic without bias, or emotional investment.
